The Gem Theatre Company Obtains a brand new Home
The Gem Theatre Company has signed a 20-year lease on 555 W. 42nd Street in Manhattan, the venue lately vacated by Signature Theatre Company, J.R. Sullivan, the Pearl's artistic director, introduced on Wednesday. The Gem will inaugurate its permanent home using its 29th season, beginning this fall."This proceed to 42nd Street marks a significant chance for that Gem and it is audiences," stated Sullivan. "The previous home from the Signature Theatre Clients are justly famous like a great space for nice plays. It's convenient, comfortable, while offering audiences a romantic relationship for an especially fine space. It'll prove an ideal fit for that classics to range from Gem."Since its founding back in 1984, the Gem may be the only resident classical company in NY. The Pearl's final production at City Center is going to be Eugene O'Neill's "A Moon for that Misbegotten" which starts previews March 6 prior to a March 18 opening for any limited tell you April 15.
